We are a competitor of the companies reviewed on this page. That is a conflict of interest and you should read everything here with it in mind. What we can offer against it: every factual claim is drawn from the company's own published material and linked, every clinical criticism applies equally to us where it applies, and we take no affiliate commission or referral fee from anyone named here — including from the retail pharmacies whose generics we rate most highly.

The FDA approved the first sildenafil oral film in February 2026. It dissolves on the tongue, needs no water, and — unlike every compounded sublingual reviewed on this page — it has an approval behind it.

Not verified at source

The manufacturer’s own page was not reachable by us, so this entry is built from the FDA approval announcement and trade coverage, corroborated across several independent outlets. The approval, the doses and the dosing window are well established in that reporting; pricing and real-world availability were not, and should be checked directly.

Our assessment

This entry matters less for what it is than for what it removes. Five products on this page are compounded sublinguals or chewables, and the argument for all of them rests on format — it dissolves, so you do not need water, so it is discreet and it is fast. That argument used to come with an unavoidable trade: to get the format you had to accept a product with no approval behind it.

That trade no longer exists. As of February 2026 there is an FDA-approved sildenafil that dissolves on the tongue, at 25, 50, 75 and 100mg — every one of them inside the approved range for the molecule, with a maximum that stops exactly where sildenafil’s maximum has always stopped.

Be careful about the speed, though, because the approval does not say what the marketing around this category implies. The labelled window is thirty minutes to four hours before activity, and the pharmacokinetic median for peak concentration was eighty minutes. This is not a product that works in fifteen minutes, and neither, in the published evidence, is any other dissolving sildenafil.

So the honest way to read it: if the dissolving format genuinely suits you — you dislike swallowing tablets, or you want something you can take without a glass of water — this is now the way to get that with an approval attached. If you were drawn to the compounded sublinguals because you believed they were dramatically faster, read the article linked below before you buy anything at all.

One practical caveat. It was approved in February and expected to market in March 2026, and we have not verified price or real-world availability. A brand-new branded product is unlikely to be cheap against generic sildenafil at about a dollar a tablet, and that cost difference is the trade you are now making instead.

Reasonable for

  • Men who genuinely prefer or need a dissolving format and want an approved product
  • Men who have difficulty swallowing tablets
  • Men currently using a compounded sublingual who would rather have an approval behind what they take

Not for

  • Anyone taking nitrates in any form, including recreational ‘poppers’
  • Men chasing a dramatically faster onset — the labelled window starts at 30 minutes
  • Men for whom cost is the priority, at least until pricing is known
  • Men who have not had a blood pressure reading or blood work recently
